Research has proven that the
antioxidants in coffee are beneficial to the health and
well-being of our bodies. It does not, however, take away the
need for getting eight hours of sleep, eating a healthy diet,
and possibly taking multivitamins to maintain a healthy body
functions.
It has always been known that coffee is an energy booster.
Researchers wanted to find out if drinking coffee had any other
effects on the body. Studies have shown that drinking two to
three cups of coffee per day can prevent various diseases such
as Parkinson's disease, depression, and prevent cavities.
Green coffee beans contain chlorogenic acid. This is an
antioxidant which helps to regulate the digestive system and
assists the body in absorbing oxygen much better than other
liquids.
It does not matter if you drink your coffee black or with
cream or with sugar, or with cream and sugar. The level of
antioxidants remains the same. Regular black coffee also
contains caffeic acid, melanodins, and
N-methylpyridinium.
Other substances such as tea and chocolate contain caffeine
and can help boost the immune system.
The amount of coffee you consume is a personal preference.
Some people can drink five to ten cups of coffee per day and do
not experience any problems with increased heart rate or
nervousness. Others may only be able to consume two or three
cups per day. Your body lets you know and you should heed any
signs you are given.
If you are pregnant, are suffering from heart disease, or a
child, coffee may not be good for you. You should check with
your doctor before consuming caffeinated or decaffeinated
coffee.
Drinking your favorite beverage daily and as many times a
day as you like is your preference and offers health benefits.
However, you should take notice of any signs that you may be
consuming too much such as nervousness or increased heart
rate.
